Pinterest - The Virtual Pin Board Site For Ideas
I've discovered Pinterest and it is so addictive, once I started pinning I couldn't stop!
What is Pinterest?
Pinterest is a virtual pinboard that allows you to organize and share all the things that you love in life. I suppose it's a bit like an online mood board which proves very handy for pinning all of your image research from the web in your very own themed board. What attracted me to Pinterest was the fact that when I start a new project, be it arts, craft or design, I spend a good while before hand searching the web for inspiration and ideas. This has proved very time consuming as I save all the images to my computer in a folder for a mood board, which takes up alot of memory! When I first heard about Pinterest I thought it was a really clever idea which would save me alot of time. It's so easy to use and it's great to have a place where I can easily store all of my different themed boards by simply browsing the web and clicking the 'Pin It' tab. The mission statement of Pinterest is to connect everyone in the world through shared tastes and the “things” they find interesting, giving Internet users another way to discover and explore visual content. Pinterest is fast becoming one of the new top social networking sites and I have to say after using it, I can see why! Here's some boards of interest I've created so far:
