Logo Design & Branded Marketing Materials For a Holistic Therapist
Over the past week in between work, jewellery making and investigating the paranormal, I've been working on a logo design for a friend's new start up business as a Holistic Therapist.
'Waterfall Holistic Massage Therapies' offer a range of Holistic treatments for the mind, body and soul. These treatments include Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Colour and Crystal Therapy and much more.
I personally don't know too much about Holistic Therapies, so I thought I'd do a little research and share my findings on here to make this post a little more interesting than me just sharing my design work. (Plus, in return for my Logo and Branding Design I will be receiving a treatment for free so I could do with a little bit of holistic education!)
What is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils for psychological and physical well-being. It is a form of complementary therapy that is designed to treat the whole person and not just the symptom or the disease by assisting the body's natural ability to balance, regulate and heal itself.
What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a treatment that is based on the principle that there are areas and points on the feet, hands and ears that map via the nervous system to corresponding parts of the body. When pressure is applied to these areas and points it stimulates the movement of energy along the nerve channels and helps to restore balance throughout the body.
What is Colour and Crystal Therapy?
Colour and Crystal therapy works on the idea that we are vibration and colour and crystals are vibration too. Working together they can clear our vibration blockages and resolve our energy to resonate and strong. Various crystals are placed around a fully clothed person to induce deep relaxation, release stress and pain and promote energy balance within the physical and subtle bodies. Crystals may be used singly or in patterns and are placed on points of pain, on acupuncture points or on subtle energy vortexes called chakras.
When designing the logo, I decided to go for a natural style, combining swirl like graphics based around a waterfall type of graphic and font. Here is the final logo:
