Hello! I'm Nicky and I am the creator and face behind Neopog Art. Thank you for being here! I live in Wrexham, North Wales with my husband and 6 rescue cats.
I mostly focus on the styles of mixed media, dottism and mandala painting and began selling stuff on Etsy, which received positive reviews from customers. I have always been inspired by the world around me, especially nature and anything symbolic, sacred, abstract or spiritual.
Dot paintings are internationally recognized as a unique and integral to Australian Aboriginal Art, I would say I draw great influence from this in some of my work. The dottism technique can give the painting an almost 3D effect and a sense of movement and rhythm, particularly when using the finer detail of microdots.
Mandala (Sanskrit for “circle” or “discoid object) is a diagram, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically - A complex abstract design that is usually circular in form. In various spiritual traditions, mandalas may be employed for focusing attention of practitioners and adepts, as a spiritual guidance tool, for establishing a sacred space and as an aid to meditation and trance induction. When painting in ether of these styles, I take great care in choosing the colours to ensure that they are meaningful to the piece being created.
My work includes unique painted skulls and various hand crafted plaster cast creations, along with acrylic on canvas. Sometimes I will add embellishments for extra fine detail. These could be gemstones, pearls, semi-precious stones or crystals. Each piece created is unique in it's own right. All completed artwork is gift wrapped in pink tissue paper with branded sticker before being packaged securely ready for delivery. My shop items offer delivery options to the UK.
